Lunyr is an Ethereum-based decentralized crowdsourced encyclopedia which rewards users with app tokens for peer reviewing and contributing information. The advertising system of Lunyr platform allows for the purchase of advertising on the platform using Lunyr tokens (LUN), an ERC20-based token on the Ethereum platform. LUN can be obtained either from the Lunyr platform’s reward system or exchanges such as,,,, Big.ONE, and

In its initial stage, Lunyr will serve as a platform for reliable, user-friendly and unbiased information about current and upcoming crypto projects as well as focus on developing the system to improve accuracy, increase content, and grow readership. Once the knowledge base increases and there is a solid community of contributors and readers, Lunyr will expand to other domains of knowledge including but not limited to innovative topics in Finance, Law, Investment, Science, and Technology. It will also encourage contributions on real time data on world events and translations in multiple languages.

The Lunyr Open Beta was launched on 30 January 2018 which represents a revolutionary development in the future of knowledge sharing. The value of the Lunyr API will grow with the increase in the knowledge base. This will allow developers to use the knowledge base as the base for creating next-generation decentralized applications in Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and more.

Its ICO was launched in May 2017 and raised $3.4 million.

How it Works

Lunyr platform is based on constant collaboration of contributors and reviewers who are rewarded for their effort. It provides free, peer-reviewed information for all users.

  • The contributor begins with adding or editing information in the knowledge base for receiving rewards.
  • The contributions/ submissions go through a mandatory peer review process. The information is added to the knowledge base only after it has been approved for its reliability and accuracy.
  • Every user who submits a contribution is required to peer review other submissions and vice-versa. With the help of machine learning, peer reviewers are given topics with which they are familiar.
  • After the submission has been reviewed and added to the knowledge base, the contributor is rewarded Contribution (CBN) and Honor (HNR) tokens.
  • CBN are used to calculate how many LUN an individual will be rewarded for the current reward period. CBN are automatically consumed after LUN rewards are distributed for the two-week reward period. LUN are also used to purchase advertising on the platform. HNR is used to propose and vote on issues in the Dispute and Resolution system. It is consumed upon use.
  • LUN are used to place advertisements on the platform which are text-based ads. Machine learning is used to the ads content-aware and they have to pass through mandatory peer review before it is committed to the platform.
